Job Description

As a Senior Scrum Master in the Public Sector, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating and promoting agile methodologies within our organization. You are required to guide cross-functional teams in delivering high-impact projects and initiatives that directly benefit the community. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that Scrum and other agile practices are implemented effectively, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and transparency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Bring extensive knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and other agile methodologies to guide teams towards self-organization and high-performance.

  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives. Ensure teams adhere to Scrum principles and continuously improve their processes.

  • Coach and mentor team members, Product Owners, and stakeholders in adopting agile principles. Share best practices and knowledge to ensure alignment with agile values.

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including government officials and community representatives, to understand their objectives and align the team with these goals.

  • Foster a culture of openness and collaboration within and between teams, promoting knowledge sharing and effective problem-solving while breaking down organizational silos.

  • Identify and address conflicts and obstacles that impede team progress, proactively seeking creative solutions and escalating issues when necessary.

  • Promote a culture of ongoing improvement, assisting teams in identifying areas for enhancement and implementing strategies to optimize their agile processes.

  • Monitor and report on team progress, metrics, and key performance indicators, leveraging data-driven insights to enhance team performance and support decision-making.

  • Ensure teams adhere to quality standards and practices, delivering products or services that meet the highest standards and comply with public sector regulations.

  • Identify potential risks and develop proactive mitigation plans, guaranteeing on-time and on-budget project delivery.

  • Ensure adherence to public sector regulations and standards, maintaining accurate and up-to-date project documentation.


Qualifications:

  • SAFe 6 Certification is mandatory

  • 8-10 years of experience as a Scrum Master or agile coach in the public sector or related industries.

  • Strong knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and other agile methodologies.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to adapt and tailor agile practices to the unique needs of public sector projects.

  • Proficiency in using agile project management tools and software.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a collaborative and iterative development environment.
